Synopsis Why do artists create? For whom? These questions spin in an allegorical melodrama of a nearly-doomed love affair between two Russian men, who are observed and enacted upon by a trio of plotting witches, and their artist-creators. Depicting a range of transactions and exchanges, Two Russians explores utopian connections between artistic inspiration, love and the marketplace. A choral presence wafts over and through the narrative and its characters.
